To turn on JavaScript, follow the directions below:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x and 7.x (Windows)

Select Internet Options from the Tools menu or, for Version 7, from Tools in the upper right portion of your screen.
Click the Security tab.
Click Custom level… in Security level for this zone.
Scroll down to Scripting, near the bottom of the list.
Under Active scripting, choose Enable.
Click OK to leave Security Settings. Click OK to leave Internet Options.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (Macintosh)

Choose Preferences under the Explorer menu.
Click Web Content under Web Browser.
In Active Content, check the box next to Enable scripting.
In Java, click Enable Java. Click OK.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Windows)

Select Internet Options from the View menu.
Click the Security tab.
Set the security level for this zone to Custom (for expert users).
Click the Settings button (to the right of Custom).
Scroll to the bottom of the list and enable Active scripting.
Click the OK button to close the Security Settings window. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Macintosh)

Click the Preferences icon in the Toolbar.
Click the Web Content icon under Web Browser.
In Active Content, check the box next to Enable scripting. Click the OK button.

Netscape 8.0 (Windows)

From the Tools drop-down menu at the top of the browser, select Options….
On the left side of the dialog box, click the Site Controls category.
Under “My Settings,” select americanfunds.com in the list.
Under “Web Features” on the right side of the dialog box, make sure that “Enable JavaScript/VBScript” and “Enable Java” are checked.
Click OK.

Netscape 7.x (Windows)

Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
Check the box next to Enable Java. Click the OK button.

Netscape 6.x (Windows, Macintosh)

Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
Check the box next to Enable JavaScript for Navigator. Click the OK button.

Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.x (Windows, Macintosh)

Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced on the left side of the dialog box.
Check the box next to Enable JavaScript. Click the OK button.

America Online (Windows, Macintosh)

JavaScript is always on.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and 2.0

Select Options... from the Tools drop-down menu.
Select the Content section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
Check the “Block pop-up windows,” “Load images automatically” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
Click OK.

Safari 1.x (Macintosh)

Select Preferences... from the Safari drop-down menu.
Select the Security section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
Under “Web Content,” check the “Enable plug-ins,” “Enable Java” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
Close the Security window.
